Thailand, Cambodia, Malaysia – Teaser

After 32 hours on the airports, airplanes, buses etc I arrived in Ljubljana yesterday evening. I’ve been gone for a month and I must say it was AMAZING!!!!! I visited Thailand (Phuket, Phi Phi Don and Phi Phi Leh (movie The Beach), Similian Islands (I was diving there and I must say it is terrific, I have some 500 photos of underwater life there), then I went to Cambodia. I have been to a lot of places there. The famous Angkor Wat, Angkor Thom, cities Siem Reap, Batambang, Phnom Penh, Kampot, Kep, Sihanouk Ville, some small villages, national parks and so on. My trip finished in Kuala Lumpur, where I had all the time to explore the City and to visit the famous Petronas Twin Towers and Kuala Lumpur Comunication tower. So this is just a quick story about the last month…(expect a lot of new photos and stuff in the next month). Now comes editing, editing, editing (I still have unedited photos from Canary Islands and I’m leaving for Switzerland in 2 days…)

Here it is, the quick teaser….

Tunisia 06

Today I was watching some old photos from my trip to Tunisia in 2006 and a few photos draw my attention. I haven’t published them before, so I edited them a little and here they are.

Tunisia 08

Here I am back again at home. Well, what’s new?…hmm I have been to Tunisia again :) ….for the 3rd time allready. I just love those last-minute deals. I saw a great deal on the net on Monday and on Wednesday I was in Tunisia. As I have allready seen much of Tunisia there are not so many photos but I have some from my trip to capital Tunis and a lovely city called Sidi bou Said(some 17km out of Tunis).

Port of Nabeul and below the lighthouse.

Above you can see the Louage station, this is some kind of taxi, that drives you only from city to city and it is very cheap. It is about 3,4 TD (1,9EUR) from Hammamet to Tunis.

Above is the most common “fruit” in Tunisia.

Between those buildings are the narrow streets that leads to the old Medina of Tunis…

…and here they are….very crowded….and you must bargain on every corner….

Man smoking shisha and drinking tea.

A friend from Tunis, she showed us around and took us to Sidi bou Said….

….coming soon…photos from Sidi bou Said…

Life in Morocco

As promised the story continues. This part of the series will be about life in Morocco.

ARCHITECTURE

The only interesting thing to photograph in Agadir, besides the people…

TRANSPORTATION

I have never seen so many taxis driving around. There are taxis that drive only between the cities, than only in city centers. The majority of cars are very old, so they are quite interesting for us Europeans, while we cannot see some cars like there at home. Next thing exciting or scary is how they drive. It seem that they have no regulations. When you go somewhere with a bus or taxi your adrenaline is pumping as you are wondering (are we going to crash)…

…old Peugeot…

…katrca :D

…grande taxi (long distance)…

…pimped car…:D

…in Morocco people don’t waste any empty seats…

LIFE AND PEOPLE

Life is pretty much nothing like we know it here in Europe. Everything is happening very slowly. The next photos shown here were taken in Aurir, Agadir and Marrakech.

…local men in Aurir…

All alone in Nice

I can’t really decide which title suits best for the photo, but for now let it be “All alone”. This photo was made while exploring Nice coastline. I saw him a day before, but I didn’t have my EOS around. While looking at the photo you can ask yourself “How lucky are we, to have a home?!”
