Back in 2010 when I was visiting Philippines I met an interesting man, who we called Viktor. He took us on a tour around local villages, rice terraces and give us the opportunity to chat with local people and they also prepared us a little meal in one village. In October this year, photograph of Viktor ended up on a cover of a magazine called Svet & Ljudje (World & People – Slovenian magazine). Here is a little video and some memories from that lovely day back in the 2010. Thanks Viktor!

The Filipino people are the citizens of the Republic of the Philippines. The term is also often used to refer to a person having Filipino ancestry. There are about 92 million Filipinos in the Philippines and about 11 million living outside the Philippines. All the people I met and talked to were very friendly and nice.

After 35 hours in transit, I am finally home. Philippines were great, people are friendly and the scenery is amazing. For now, here are just a few images I took during my 3 week long trip. I have been hiking in the northern Luzon, diving on Palawan and much more… Stay tuned for more…

I know that everybody is eagerly waiting for new photos from my recent trip to USA but you will have to wait a bit longer. I have a lot of work with my new site and believe me, it is worth the wait Meanwhile I also have to study for exams. I am also building travel photography section on this blog, so every trip or travel expedition I have been on (and will be) will be covered there. Once complete it is going to be great Enough with stuff that isn´t here yet. I will be posting some new photos from Hawaii here on my blog soon.

For today I have chosen the photo “Friendly Shark” which was shot when I visited Aquarium on MAUI, Hawaii. They have an underground “show room” for the biggest fish tank they have there, so you can see through a big wall of glass. There are a few species of sharks in it, sting rays and some other big fish. There were mainly families with children and as soon as I saw kids in front of that big window and sharks swimming by I knew that is going to be The Shot! I was there quite some time until I got the shot I wanted. It is probably one of my best photos from Hawaii or it might be also one of the best photos that I have. It shows children how curious they are and are just speechless watching this big animals. It so interesting that nobody was scared of them. That´s it…until next time….hope you like the photo!

As I wrote in my previous posts, people are very poor in Cambodia but very very friendly and they like to pose in front of the camera  Never before have I taken so many photographs of people.

My main activity in Thailand was indeed diving but I also had some time to see some of Phuket, Phi Phi Don and Phi Phi Leh (on which is the famous Maya bay known from the movie The Beach with Leonardo DiCaprio), Bamboo island and Similian islands where I did most of my diving. Phi Phi is recovering well after the December 2004 tsunami and you can hardly find some evidence of that event. Phi Phi is very crowded place full of tourists but it is a pleasant place to stay. On the island there are no roads just walkways. The beaches are amazing!!! Only white sand and clear tropical water with temperatures around 30°C oh and abundance of marine life. You can go snorkeling just off the coast and you will see huge amounts of fish and corals. There are also many more islands and beaches that are as good as Phi Phi or even better but are not so popular or famous so there you can find some more peaceful places. People in Thailand are also very friendly.

After 32 hours on the airports, airplanes, buses etc I arrived in Ljubljana yesterday evening. I’ve been gone for a month and I must say it was AMAZING!!!!! I visited Thailand (Phuket, Phi Phi Don and Phi Phi Leh (movie The Beach), Similian Islands (I was diving there and I must say it is terrific, I have some 500 photos of underwater life there), then I went to Cambodia. I have been to a lot of places there. The famous Angkor Wat, Angkor Thom, cities Siem Reap, Batambang, Phnom Penh, Kampot, Kep, Sihanouk Ville, some small villages, national parks and so on. My trip finished in Kuala Lumpur, where I had all the time to explore the City and to visit the famous Petronas Twin Towers and Kuala Lumpur Comunication tower. So this is just a quick story about the last month…(expect a lot of new photos and stuff in the next month). Now comes editing, editing, editing (I still have unedited photos from Canary Islands and I’m leaving for Switzerland in 2 days…)

Here I am back again at home. Well, what’s new?…hmm I have been to Tunisia again ….for the 3rd time allready. I just love those last-minute deals. I saw a great deal on the net on Monday and on Wednesday I was in Tunisia. As I have allready seen much of Tunisia there are not so many photos but I have some from my trip to capital Tunis and a lovely city called Sidi bou Said(some 17km out of Tunis).

Above you can see the Louage station, this is some kind of taxi, that drives you only from city to city and it is very cheap. It is about 3,4 TD (1,9EUR) from Hammamet to Tunis.

Above is the most common “fruit” in Tunisia.
