Once again one of my images was awarded “photo of the day” on photoburst travel photography contest. I was really happy when I got the email announcing photo of the day for today. I am also really happy that this is now my third photo that got awarded on this travel photography site.
“Wetlands” – Little girl on a boat on Tonle Sap lake, Cambodia
My photo “Innocence” was awarded “photo of the day” on photoburst.net today (4 Feb 2010). Photoburst is a travel photography daily contest. Last year (on 22nd of May 2009) my photo “Friendly Shark” got awarded photo of the day on this same site. Click here to see today’s winning photo.
One of my photos from China got a huge recognition just a few days ago, when it was chosen for daily deviation on deviantART. Folks at deviantART said: “Just like many other journalistic photographs, Rice lady by *jusmedic is a display of the artist’s skill to capture a special moment in a seemingly ordinary environment. The photograph depicts a harmony between human and nature through its shiny colours and an almost tangible air of abundance. I also love how, despite her workclothes, we can still see the staggering femininity of the model.”
No I am not the winner. I have ranked 13 out of 139 people who submitted 459 photographs. The competition was held by Slovenian edition of Digital Camera Magazine. I have submitted 3 photos from my recent travels (one from Cambodia - ”Brothers”, one from Hawaii – “Friendly Shark” and one from Canary islands – “Surfing” which ended on 13th place). My personal favorite was not “Surfing”, but anyway I am pleased with the results. Congrats to all other contestants. Here is the link to 37th edition of Digital Camera.
